Successfully defended my PhD thesis! πŸŽ“πŸ’›πŸ–€πŸš‚

I’m very happy to share that I successfully defended my PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University! πŸŽ“πŸ’›πŸ–€πŸš‚

My research focused on energy-efficient on-device learning, bringing together brain-inspired algorithms and hardware co-design to enable adaptive intelligence on edge devices. It has been an incredible journey, full of challenges, growth, and many moments that pushed me far beyond what I imagined possible.

I’m deeply grateful to my advisor Prof. Kaushik Roy, to all my friends and collaborators at the NRL at Purdue University, and to my dissertation committee, Prof. Anand Raghunathan, Prof. Sumeet Gupta, and Prof. Vijay Raghunathan, for their insightful guidance and support throughout this process. I also want to extend a sincere thank you to all my mentors, especially Prof. EstefanΓa Talavera and Prof. Charlotte Frenkel, whose advice and encouragement have been truly invaluable to my academic path.

I’m also profoundly grateful to Pronabec for awarding me the β€œGeneraciΓ³n del Bicentenario” Fellowship, whose support made this journey possible.

And of course, thank you to my friends who were always there along the way, and to my family, without whom none of this would have been possible.

Excited for the next chapter ahead and to continue working at the intersection of neuromorphic computing, continual learning, and hardware-aware AI.
